|

Cross Tubes
|
Air tubes that act as a roof and/or
used as support for walls, generally running from the front to the back of an
inflatable product. |

Deflation Flap
|
A vinyl flap located on the sides,
rear, or on concealed panels of an inflatable game. They are designed to be
opened for allowing air to escape during deflation. |

Double Stitch
|
A form of sewing; running two rows of
stitching side by side simultaneously. |
|
Envelope
|
A commonly used term when referring to
the inflatable portion of a game only. |
|
Footprint
|
The absolute amount of area that an
inflatable game or any other product needs to have cleared for safe operation;
the base dimensions of an inflatable game. |

Grommet Strip
|
A two piece washer like item that is
punched through material and permanently attached, allowing the continuous
passage of rope, shock cord, or other fastening devices. |

Ground Sheet
|
A piece of material placed on the
ground to protect the base floor of inflatable games. |

Hook & Loop
|
Synonym for a fastening material
commonly referred to as Velcro™. The Hook and |

Hot Air |
A type of inflatable product that is
blown up with continuous air flow inside maintaining positive pressure.

Hot Knife
|
A type of knife that when heated, is
used to cut through rope, webbing, and shock cord. |

Inflation Tube
|
A round tube that connects to the
inflation fan ( blower ) for channeling air into the inflatable product.

Interactive
|
A word used to describe games that
participants can compete directly against each other. For example, Bounces are
not considered part of this category. |
|
Internals ( Baffles
) |
The sub-assembly of an inflatable
product that directs air while creating firmness and structural support to the
inflatable. |

Knee Wall
|
An 18" high air-filled wall that rises
above the top floor. The purpose is to prevent the roof from collapsing when
people fall into the netted sides. |

Measurement
|
Measurements of inflatable games are
taken vertically from the ground to the highest point of the uppermost arch.

Netting |
Material used allowing spectators to
view from the outside, while keeping participants safely inside an inflatable
game. |

Nylon |
A type of material that some
manufacturers of vinyl material will use for their base cloth. |

Polyester
|
A type of material that some
manufacturers of vinyl fabric will use for their base cloth. |
|
Positive Pressure
|
Continuous air flow and pressure
maintained in an inflatable game to provide strength and rigidity. |
|
PVC Vinyl
|
( Polyvinylchloride ) The primary
material inflatable products are manufactured with. |

Re-rent |
A term used in the rental industry,
when one rental company needs to lease equipment from another rental company.
|
|
Rope Down
|
A tie down strap or rope that is used
at the top of an inflatable game versus at the bottom. |
|
Screen Ink
|
The type of paint ( silk screen ink )
that is used on inflatable products for graphics and artwork. |
|
Seaming Out
|
The process of pulling exterior seams
outward so they are flat and even before rolling up an inflatable game.
|
|
Shock Cord
|
Similar to bungee cord. It is used to
lace games together to prevent tearing of the material during times of extreme
stress. |
|
Single Stitch
|
A form of sewing; running a single row
of stitching onto the material. |
|
Slide Surface
|
Generally referred to regarding
inflatable slides. The top surface that people climb and slide on, designed to
protect the main surface materials of an inflatable game. |

Sticky |
A term used for hook and loop material.
|
|
Tether |
Another word for roping down an
inflatable game. |
|
Throughput
|
The amount of people that can pass
through in a given time frame. |
|
Tie
|
Straps or rings used in fastening a
structure; Devices used to stake or attach an inflatable product to the ground.

Top Floor
|
The actual surface material that
participants walk on in an inflatable structure. |
|
Vinyl Coating
|
PVC material that is either coated or
laminated to the base cloth creating a vinyl sheet. |

Webbing |
"Seat belt" type fabric strips for
numerous applications in the manufacture of inflatable games. Used mainly in
areas that will be placed under tensile stress or for the reinforcement of
material.

Weft Insert
|
A type of weaving method used in base
cloth material to prevent tears from making a continued run. |
|
Welded Seam
|
A vinyl welding process that melts two
pieces of vinyl material into one strong seam. |
